Through reflection and experience, pupils are guided to develop confidence, responsibility and a growing sense of identity. This enables them to make positive choices, appreciate their unique qualities and recognise their role within the wider community.

These values are lived out through our Forest School ethos, where children learn through experience, reflection and connection with the natural world. Forest School provides meaningful opportunities to develop curiosity, teamwork, perseverance and self‑awareness while deepening understanding of both self and others in a supportive, child‑centred environment.

Forest School is a way of learning using the outdoor environment.  Promoting opportunities for hands-on experiences in the natural environment, it encourages children to explore and succeed in their chosen activities.

The sessions are child-initiated, although the leader will plan activities to establish routines and create opportunities based on the children’s interests. At Forest School sessions are planned to promote independent thinking and help children gain in confidence.
